Kijlaj
Aqui va la receta de los Kijlaj de nuestra infancia:
~Childhood recipe for Kijlaj cakes from Paola the Bogotanita.
Cup of sifted flour
3/4 teaspoonful of baking powder
pinch of salt
2 desertspoonfuls of sugar
1/3 cup of poppy seeds
2 eggs, beaten
1/3 cup of oil
spoonful of cold water
Sift the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together. Add the poppy seeds and mix into a bowl.
Make a hole in the flour and pour in the eggs and the oil and the water. Mix it into a consistent paste.
Spoon out the mix onto a greased oven tray with each dollop 6 cm apart.
Cook in a moderate oven for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
